Conductors, Trishaw Riders and Passengers)
(Amendment No. 4) Rules 2017

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 111 of the Road Traffic Act, the Land Transport Authority of Singapore makes the following Rules:

Citation and commencement

1. These Rules are the Road Traffic (Public Service Vehicles) (Vocational Licences and Conduct of Drivers, Conductors, Trishaw Riders and Passengers) (Amendment No. 4) Rules 2017 and come into operation on 1 January 2018.

Amendment of rule 22B

2. Rule 22B of the Road Traffic (Public Service Vehicles) (Vocational Licences and Conduct of Drivers, Conductors, Trishaw Riders and Passengers) Rules (R 8) is amended —

(a)

by deleting the full‑stop at the end of paragraph (d) and substituting a semi‑colon, and by inserting immediately thereafter the following paragraph:

“(e)	provide a courier pick‑up and delivery service using the chauffeured private hire car or taxi, without the prior approval of the Registrar.”; and

(b)

by renumbering the rule as paragraph (1) of that rule, and by inserting immediately thereafter the following paragraph:

“(2) In this rule, a courier pick‑up and delivery service means a service consisting of the collection, conveyance and delivery, for reward, of any cargo not incidental to the carriage of any passenger in a motor vehicle; and any goods, article, food or baggage which is unaccompanied by any passenger travelling in the motor vehicle must be treated as cargo.”.
