Silver Support Scheme
(Amendment) Regulations 2023

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 20(1) of the Silver Support Scheme Act 2015, the Minister for Manpower makes the following Regulations:

Citation and commencement

1. These Regulations are the Silver Support Scheme (Amendment) Regulations 2023 and come into operation on 18 December 2023.

Amendment of regulation 8

2. In the Silver Support Scheme Regulations 2016 (G.N. No. S 350/2016), in regulation 8 —

(a)

in paragraph (3), replace sub‑paragraph (b) with —

“(b)

where an eligible individual resides in an approved permanent premises in which a nursing home service is provided by a nursing home service licensee, a cash grant which the individual is eligible to receive may be credited to the bank account of the nursing home service licensee maintained for the individual, at the request of the person determined in accordance with paragraph (4); or”; and

(b)

after paragraph (4), insert —

“(5) In this regulation —

“approved permanent premises” has the meaning given by section 2(1) of the Healthcare Services Act 2020;

“nursing home service” has the meaning given by the First Schedule to the Healthcare Services Act 2020;

“nursing home service licensee” means a person who holds a licence under the Healthcare Services Act 2020 to provide a nursing home service.”.
