(COVID-19 Clearance)
(Amendment No. 4) Regulations 2023
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 73(1) of the Infectious Diseases Act 1976, the Minister for Health makes the following Regulations:
Citation and commencement
1.  These Regulations are the Infectious Diseases (COVID‑19 Clearance) (Amendment No. 4) Regulations 2023 and come into operation on 18 December 2023.
Amendment of regulation 2
2.  In the Infectious Diseases (COVID‑19 Clearance) Regulations 2021 (G.N. No. S 273/2021), in regulation 2(1) —
(a)replace the definition of “approved test provider” with —
“ “approved test provider” means a person who is authorised by a licence under the Healthcare Services Act 2020 to provide any licensable healthcare service within the meaning of section 3 of that Act that includes the provision of an approved test;”;
(b)in the definition of “corresponding foreign authority”, in paragraph (a)(i), insert “or” at the end;
(c)in the definition of “corresponding foreign authority”, in paragraph (a), delete sub‑paragraphs (ii) and (iii); and
(d)replace the definition of “foreign healthcare institution” with —
“ “foreign healthcare institution” means any premises or conveyance that is duly authorised by a corresponding foreign authority of a foreign country to provide in the foreign country a healthcare service that is a licensable healthcare service within the meaning of section 3 of the Healthcare Services Act 2020;”.
Saving provision
3.  Despite regulation 2(a), a reference to an approved test provider in the Infectious Diseases (COVID‑19 Clearance) Regulations 2021 (called in this regulation the principal Regulations), in relation to an antigen rapid test carried out before 18 December 2023, includes an approved test provider within the meaning given by regulation 2(1) of the principal Regulations as in force immediately before that date.
