Environmental Public Health Act
(Chapter 95)
Environmental Public Health (Crematoria) (Amendment) Regulations 2007
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 111 of the Environmental Public Health Act, the National Environment Agency, with the approval of the Minister for the Environment and Water Resources, hereby makes the following Regulations:
Citation and commencement
1.  These Regulations may be cited as the Environmental Public Health (Crematoria) (Amendment) Regulations 2007 and shall come into operation on 1st March 2007.
Amendment of regulation 10
2.  Regulation 10(3) of the Environmental Public Health (Crematoria) Regulations (Rg 6) is amended by deleting the words “15 years” and substituting the words “7 years”.
Transitional provision
3.—(1)  The amendment to the record-keeping period made by regulation 2 shall apply in relation to any application, certificate and other document relating to a cremation required to be kept under regulation 10(3) of the Environmental Public Health (Crematoria) Regulations, whether the obligation to keep such document first arises before, on or after 1st March 2007.
(2)  Paragraph (1) shall not apply in relation to any application, certificate and other document relating to a cremation if the period for which it is to be kept under regulation 10(3) of the Environmental Public Health (Crematoria) Regulations in force immediately before 1st March 2007.
