(Amendment No. 2) Rules 2022

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 45 of the Employment Agencies Act 1958, the Minister for Manpower makes the following Rules:

Citation and commencement

1. These Rules are the Employment Agencies (Amendment No. 2) Rules 2022 and are deemed to have come into operation on 31 December 2021.

Amendment of rule 2

2. In rule 2 of the Employment Agencies Rules 2011 (G.N. No. S 172/2011) (called in these Rules the principal Rules) —

(a)	in the definition of “Controller of Work Passes”, replace “(Cap. 91A)” with “1990”; and
(b)	in the definitions of “foreign employee” and “salary”, after “Employment of Foreign Manpower Act”, insert “1990”.

Amendment of rule 3

3. In rule 3 of the principal Rules —

(a)	in paragraph (2), replace “section 7(2A)” with “section 7(3)”;
(b)	in paragraph (3), replace “section 10(3)” with “section 9(3)”; and
(c)	in paragraph (4), replace “section 12A(2)” with “section 12(2)”.

Amendment of rule 12

4. In rule 12 of the principal Rules —

(a)	in paragraph (1), replace “sections 14 and 23(1)” with “sections 15 and 33(1)”; and
(b)	in paragraph (3), replace “section 14” with “section 15”.

Amendment of rule 15

5. In rule 15 of the principal Rules, replace “section 12A(8)” with “section 12(8)”.

Amendment of rule 16

6. In rule 16(1) of the principal Rules —

(a)	replace “section 12B(1)” with “section 13(1)”; and
(b)	replace “section 12A” with “section 12”.

Amendment of rule 17

7. In rule 17 of the principal Rules —

(a)	replace “section 22A” with “section 30”; and
(b)	replace “section 22A(2)” with “section 30(2)”.

Amendment of rule 18

8. In rule 18 of the principal Rules —

(a)	replace “section 22B” with “section 31”; and
(b)	replace “section 22B(3)” with “section 31(3)”.

Amendment of Schedule

9. In the Schedule to the principal Rules, in Part II, in paragraph 8 —

(a)	in sub‑paragraph (a), replace “(Cap. 201)” with “1965”; and
(b)	in sub‑paragraph (b), replace “(Cap. 91A)” with “1990”.
