Merchant Shipping (Safety Convention) (Amendment) Regulations 1998

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 100 of the Merchant Shipping Act, the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore, with the approval of the Minister for Communications, hereby makes the following Regulations:

Citation and commencement

1. These Regulations may be cited as the Merchant Shipping (Safety Convention) (Amendment) Regulations 1998 and shall come into operation on 1st April 1998.

Amendment to Regulation 18 of Chapter V

2. Regulation 18 of Chapter V of the Merchant Shipping (Safety Convention) Regulations (Rg 11) is amended —

(a)	by deleting the words “Regulation 1 of Chapter II and Regulation 1 of Chapter III” in the third and fourth lines and substituting the words “Chapter VIII”; and
(b)	by deleting the word “applicable” in the last line and substituting the words “amended on 7th July 1995 and any amendment thereto which has come into force and has been accepted by the Government”.
