Optometrists and Opticians Act (Amendment of Schedule) Order 2008

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 36 of the Optometrists and Opticians Act 2007, the Minister for Health, after consultation with the Optometrists and Opticians Board, hereby makes the following Order:

Citation and commencement

1. This Order may be cited as the Optometrists and Opticians Act (Amendment of Schedule) Order 2008 and shall come into operation on 22nd February 2008.

Amendment of Schedule

2. Part II of the Schedule to the Optometrists and Opticians Act 2007 is amended by deleting item 4 and substituting the following items:

“4. Interpreting prescriptions of medical practitioners and optometrists.

5. Supplying, preparing and dispensing of all optical appliances.

6. Fitting, adjusting and adapting of all optical appliances to the human face and eyes in accordance with the prescriptions of legally qualified medical practitioners and optometrists.”.
