Merchant Shipping Act

(Chapter 179)

Merchant Shipping (Fees) (Amendment) Regulations 1998

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 213 of the Merchant Shipping Act, the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore, with the approval of the Minister for Communications, hereby makes the following Regulations:

Citation and commencement

1. These Regulations may be cited as the Merchant Shipping (Fees) (Amendment) Regulations 1998 and shall come into operation on 13th March 1998.

Amendment of Schedule

2. Part III of the Schedule to the Merchant Shipping (Fees) Regulations (Rg 17) is amended by inserting, immediately after item 8, the following items:

“9.	Oral and practical examination for Type Rating Certificate:

(a)	conduct of examination during office hours (between 0800 to 1700 hrs (Monday to Friday) and between 0800 to 1300 hrs (Saturday), except public holidays) — per examiner:

(i)	first hour or part thereof

$75.

(ii)	each additional 30 minutes or part thereof

$35.

(iii)

site visit within Singapore, if required for purposes of the examination

$40.

(b)	conduct of examination after office hours or on public holidays — per examiner:

(i)	first hour or part thereof

$150.

(ii)	each additional 30 minutes or part thereof

$75.

(iii)

site visit within Singapore, if required for purposes of the examination

$40.

10.	Issue of a Type Rating Certificate

$18.”.
