(CONNECT Plan) (Amendment No. 2)
Regulations 2022
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 3(1) of the Education Service Incentive Payment Act 2001, the Minister for Education makes the following Regulations:
Citation and commencement
1.—(1)  These Regulations are the Education Service Incentive Payment (CONNECT Plan) (Amendment No. 2) Regulations 2022 and, except for regulations 2(b), 3 and 5, come into operation on 1 January 2023.
(2)  Regulations 2(b), 3 and 5 are deemed to have come into operation on 31 December 2021.
Amendment of regulation 9
2.  In regulation 9 of the Education Service Incentive Payment (CONNECT Plan) Regulations (Rg 1) (called in these Regulations the principal Regulations) —
(a)replace paragraph (1) with —
“(1)  Subject to the Act and these Regulations, a member may be granted an award out of the contributions standing to the member’s credit in the member’s account if the member’s length of service on 1 January 2023, or on 1 January of any subsequent year, is as specified in the Second Schedule.”;
(b)in paragraph (2), replace “(Cap. 36)” with “1953”; and
(c)replace paragraph (3) with —
“(3)  Subject to the provisions of these Regulations, an award to a member in any year from 1 January 2023 under paragraph (1) must not exceed the lower of the following:
(a)the maximum amount specified in the second column of the Second Schedule opposite the length of service of that member on 1 January of that year;
(b)the amount of the contributions standing to the credit of the member in the member’s account on the date immediately before the award is granted.”.
Amendment of regulation 14
3.  In regulation 14(2) of the principal Regulations, replace “(Cap. 177A)” with “2008”.
Replacement of First and Second Schedules
4.  In the principal Regulations, replace the First and Second Schedules with —

5.  In the Third Schedule to the principal Regulations, in Part 1, in item 1, delete “(Act 5 of 2018)”.
