PART I
GENERAL
Citation
1.  These Regulations may be cited as the Dentists Regulations.
Definitions
2.  In these Regulations, unless the context otherwise requires —
“Board” means the Dental Board established under section 3 of the Act;
“register” means the register of all persons registered under the Act maintained by the Registrar pursuant to section 5 of the Act;
“secretary” means the secretary of the Board appointed under regulation 3;
“a case relating to conviction” means a case where it is alleged that a registered dentist has been convicted by any court of any crime or offence;
“a case relating to conduct” means a case where the question arises whether the conduct of a registered dentist constitutes infamous conduct in a professional respect.
Secretary
3.  The Board shall for the conduct of its business appoint one of its members to be the secretary to the Board.
Committee of Examiners
4.  The Board shall appoint a panel of persons from which shall be selected such persons as the Board may think fit to appoint to constitute a Committee of Examiners to conduct the examinations prescribed under regulations 18 and 22.
Legal adviser
5.  The Board may engage and pay for the services of a legal adviser.
Allowances
6.  The Board shall pay to each of its members appointed under section 3 (1)(e) and (f) of the Act an attendance allowance of $50 for each day or part of a day of a meeting which he attends and, in addition, travelling expenses at the rates applicable to Government officers and in accordance with Government regulations.
