Extradition (Convention on Prevention and Punishment of Crimes Against Internationally Protected Persons) Notification 2010

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 4(1)(b) of the Extradition Act read with section 11(6) of the Internationally Protected Persons Act (Cap. 145A), the Minister for Law hereby makes the following Notification:

Citation and commencement

1. This Notification may be cited as the Extradition (Convention on Prevention and Punishment of Crimes against Internationally Protected Persons) Notification 2010 and shall come into operation on 21st November 2010.

Application of Part II of Extradition Act to Convention countries

2.—(1) For the purposes of the extradition of persons accused of or convicted of a relevant offence of any Convention country specified in the Schedule, Part II of the Extradition Act shall apply in relation to that Convention country, subject to section 11(7) of the Internationally Protected Persons Act.

(2) In this paragraph, “Convention country” and “relevant offence” have the meanings given to those expressions in sections 2 and 11(9), respectively, of the Internationally Protected Persons Act.
