Employment Agencies Act
(Chapter 92)
Employment Agencies (Composition of Offences) Rules 2005
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 29 of the Employment Agencies Act, read with section 199A of the Criminal Procedure Code (Cap. 68), the Minister for Manpower hereby makes the following Rules:
Citation and commencement
1.  These Rules may be cited as the Employment Agencies (Composition of Offences) Rules 2005 and shall come into operation on 11th November 2005.
Compoundable offences
2.—(1)  The following offences may be compounded by the Commissioner, or any officer authorised by him, in accordance with section 199A of the Criminal Procedure Code:
(a)any offence under section 6 (2), 18(5), 22 or 23 of the Act; and
(b)any offence under rule 18 or 19(2) of the Employment Agency Rules (R 1).
(2)  The Commissioner, or any officer authorised by him, may compound an offence specified in the first column of the Schedule by collecting from the person reasonably suspected of having committed the offence a sum of money not exceeding the amount specified in the second column thereof.
