(Amount of Edusave Contribution for 2014)
Order 2014

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9(5) of the Education Endowment and Savings Schemes Act, the Minister for Education hereby makes the following Order:

Citation and commencement

1. This Order may be cited as the Education Endowment and Savings Schemes (Amount of Edusave Contribution for 2014) Order 2014 and shall come into operation on 10 November 2014.

Application

2. This Order prescribes the contribution payable to members of the Edusave Pupils Fund who are not schooling at any time during 2014 (called in this Order a non-schooling member).

Amount of contribution

3.—(1) Subject to sub-paragraph (3), an amount of $200 is to be paid to each non-schooling member of the following description:

(a)

a member who is at least 7 years old and not older than 12 years old;

(b)

a member —

(i)	who is at least 13 years old but below 15 years old;
(ii)	who is receiving home-schooling and is described in paragraph 3(1)(b) of the Compulsory Education (Exemption) Order (Cap. 51, O 1); and
(iii)	who, in the year 2013, has not performed, at the Primary School Leaving Examination and the National Education Quiz, at such level of educational achievement that the Director-General of Education may determine for that Examination and Quiz;

(c)

a member who is —

(i)	at least 13 years old and not older than 16 years old;
(ii)	a pupil of a designated school within the meaning of paragraph 2 of the Compulsory Education (Exemption) Order; and
(iii)	receiving primary level education in the designated school.

(2) Subject to sub-paragraph (3), an amount of $240 is to be paid to each non-schooling member of the following description:

(a)

a member who is —

(i)	at least 13 years old and not older than 16 years old;
(ii)	a pupil of a designated school within the meaning of paragraph 2 of the Compulsory Education (Exemption) Order; and
(iii)	receiving secondary level education in the designated school;

(b)

a member, other than a member referred to in sub-paragraph (1)(b) or (c), who is at least 13 years old and not older than 16 years old.

(3) No amount is to be paid to a non-schooling member who is 16 years old and who attains 17 years of age at any time in 2014.

Qualifying date

4. For the purposes of section 9(3)(b) of the Act, the qualifying date for the year 2014 is 10 November 2014.
