Endangered Species (Import and Export) (Composition of Offences) Rules 2008

In exercise of the powers conferred by sections 25(1) and 29(1) of the Endangered Species (Import and Export) Act, the Minister for National Development hereby makes the following Rules:

Citation and commencement

1. These Rules may be cited as the Endangered Species (Import and Export) (Composition of Offences) Rules 2008 and shall come into operation on 31st July 2008.

Compoundable offences

2. The following offences may be compounded by the Director-General in accordance with section 25 of the Act:

(a)	any offence under section 4(1), (2) or (3), 5(2), 8(4), 13(3), 15(12), 16(b) or 17(1)(a) of the Act;
(b)	any offence under section 19 of the Act, where the offence referred to in that section as being abetted or attempted is a compoundable offence under paragraph (a).
