Income Tax
(Approved Banks) (No. 5) Order 2006

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 13(16) of the Income Tax Act, the Minister for Finance hereby makes the following Order:

Citation and commencement

1. This Order may be cited as the Income Tax (Approved Banks) (No. 5) Order 2006 and shall be deemed to have come into operation on 30th September 2006.

Approved bank

2. Merrill Lynch International Bank Limited (Merchant Bank) (formerly known as Merrill Lynch Capital Markets Bank Limited (Merchant Bank)) is hereby approved as an “approved bank” for the purposes of section 13(1)(t) of the Act.

Amendment of Income Tax (Approved Banks) (Consolidation) Order

3. The Income Tax (Approved Banks) (Consolidation) Order (O 32) is amended by deleting item (16) (b) relating to Merrill Lynch International Bank Ltd. (Merchant Bank).
