The Minister for National Development has specified that the provisions of section 6 of the Act shall not apply to the following buildings or class of buildings:

(1)	to any flat forming part of a building shown in a subdivision plan approved by the Competent Authority as constituting a building unit of two flats; [S 136/68] [5.5.68]
(2)	to flats on subdivided buildings controlled, managed and administered by the Port of Singapore Authority; [S 56/74] [22.2.74]
(3)	to flats comprised in the buildings known as Orchard Court erected on the land known as Lot 227 Town Subdivision 20; [S 299/74] [25.10.74]
(4)	[Revoked by S 137/82 wef 01/05/1982]
(5)	to flats comprised in the buildings known as Neptune Court erected on the land known as Lot 4571 Mukim XXVII; [S 150/77] [17.6.77]
(6)	to flats comprised in the buildings erected in the housing estate known as Normanton Park on the land known as Lot 1334 Mukim III; [S 189/77] [29.7.77]
(7)	to any flat comprised in the building known as Lagoon View erected on the land known as Lot 4628 Mukim XXVII; [S 49/78] [17.3.78]
(8)	to any flat comprised in the building known as Cavenagh Townhouse erected on the land known as Lot 490 of Town Subdivision 27; and [S 65/78] [31.3.78]
(9)	to any flat comprised in any building erected on the land known as Lot 1239 of Town Subdivision 17. [S 246/78] [20.10.78]
