Misuse of Drugs
(Cessation of Approved Institutions)
Notification 2011

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 35 of the Misuse of Drugs Act, the Minister for Home Affairs hereby makes the following Notification:

Citation and commencement

1. This Notification may be cited as the Misuse of Drugs (Cessation of Approved Institutions) Notification 2011 and shall come into operation on 1st July 2011.

Cessation of approved institutions

2. The Minister hereby declares that the following approved institutions shall cease to be approved institutions for the treatment and rehabilitation of drug addicts and other persons under the Act:

(a)	Queenstown Remand Prison (C Wing), Jalan Penjara, off Margaret Drive, Singapore 149373; and
(b)	Sembawang Drug Rehabilitation Centre, Admiralty Road West, Singapore 759957.

Amendment of approved institutions

3. Items (9) and (11) in the Schedule to the Notification relating to Approved Institutions (N 3) are deleted.
