Private Hospitals and Medical Clinics
(National University Health System Pte Ltd —
Exemption) Regulations 2020
In exercise of the powers conferred by sections 21 and 22(1) of the Private Hospitals and Medical Clinics Act, the Minister for Health makes the following Regulations:
Citation and commencement
1.  These Regulations are the Private Hospitals and Medical Clinics (National University Health System Pte Ltd — Exemption) Regulations 2020 and come into operation on 15 May 2020.
Exemption
2.  Subject to the conditions in regulation 3, regulation 36(2) of the Private Hospitals and Medical Clinics Regulations (Rg 1) does not apply to, or in relation to, the medical clinic operated by National University Health System Pte Ltd (called in these Regulations the licensee) at the following premises (collectively called in these Regulations the licensed premises):
(a)22 Tuas South Street 5, Singapore 637822;
(b)24 Tuas South Street 5, Singapore 637823;
(c)26 Tuas South Street 5, Singapore 637824;
(d)28 Tuas South Street 5, Singapore 637825;
(e)30 Tuas South Street 5, Singapore 637826;
(f)32 Tuas South Street 5, Singapore 637827;
(g)34 Tuas South Street 5, Singapore 637828;
(h)36 Tuas South Street 5, Singapore 637829;
(i)38 Tuas South Street 5, Singapore 637830;
(j)40 Tuas South Street 5, Singapore 637831;
(k)42 Tuas South Street 5, Singapore 637832;
(l)44 Tuas South Street 5, Singapore 637833;
(m)46 Tuas South Street 5, Singapore 637834;
(n)48 Tuas South Street 5, Singapore 637835;
(o)50 Tuas South Street 5, Singapore 637836.
Conditions of exemption
3.  The licensee must ensure that —
(a)the licensed premises are kept in a clean condition at all times and are equipped with appropriate sanitary facilities;
(b)patients of different genders stay in different parts of the licensed premises and do not interact with one another;
(c)every patient staying at the licensed premises is provided with adequate food and at least 3 meals every day; and
(d)appropriate arrangements are made for all of the following:
(i)cleaning and housekeeping services for the licensed premises;
(ii)laundry services for the patients staying at the licensed premises;
(iii)the security of the licensed premises to ensure the safety of the patients staying at the licensed premises;
(iv)pest control within the licensed premises;
(v)proper maintenance and repair of the fittings and fixtures (including air-conditioning and mechanical ventilation systems) of the licensed premises.
