Presidential Elections (Polling Stations) Regulations 2017
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 81 of the Presidential Elections Act, the Prime Minister makes the following Regulations:
Citation and commencement
1.  These Regulations are the Presidential Elections (Polling Stations) Regulations 2017 and come into operation on 1 June 2017.

Application
1A.—(1)  The application of these Regulations to or in relation to a special polling station is subject to any modifications made by regulations made under section 30C of the Act.
(2)  The application of these Regulations to or in relation to an overseas polling station is subject to any modifications made by regulations made under section 36F of the Act.

Notice under section 20(1) of Act
2.—(1)  The notice mentioned in section 20(1) of the Act must contain the following information in respect of each candidate in an election:
(a)the name of the candidate in English, Malay, Chinese and Tamil;
(b)the symbol allotted to the candidate under section 16 of the Act;
(c)where the photograph of the candidate is included on the ballot papers for the election under section 23A(1) of the Act, that photograph;
(d)where the photograph of the candidate is not included on the ballot papers for the election (by reason of non‑compliance with section 23A(1) of the Act), an indication that there is no photograph for the candidate.
(2)  The names of the candidates on the notice must be arranged in the same order as they are arranged on the ballot papers for the election under section 23(2)(a) of the Act.
Number of polling agents in polling station
2A.  For the purposes of section 22(6) of the Act, the maximum number of polling agents of each candidate that may be admitted to a polling station is to be calculated as follows:
(a)take the number of electors allotted to the polling station under section 18(1)(c) or 30B(1) of the Act or section 13A(3A) of the Parliamentary Elections Act 1954, as the case may be;
(b)divide the number mentioned in paragraph (a) by 1,000;
(c)round up the result of paragraph (b) to the next whole number.

Directions for guidance of voters
3.  The directions for the guidance of voters mentioned in section 25(9) of the Act are set out in the Schedule.
