Reciprocal Enforcement of Foreign Judgments (Hong Kong Special Administrative Region of the People’s Republic of China) Order 1999

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 3(1) of the Reciprocal Enforcement of Foreign Judgments Act, the Minister for Law hereby makes the following Order:

Citation and commencement

1. This Order may be cited as the Reciprocal Enforcement of Foreign Judgments (Hong Kong Special Administrative Region of the People’s Republic of China) Order 1999 and shall be deemed to have come into operation on 1st July 1997.

Extension of Part I of Act

2. Part I of the Act shall extend to Hong Kong Special Administrative Region of the People’s Republic of China, and the following courts of that territory shall be deemed superior courts of that territory for the purposes of that Part:

(a)	Court of Final Appeal; and
(b)	High Court (consisting of the Court of Appeal and the Court of First Instance).
