Citation

1. This Notification may be cited as the Road Traffic (Carriage of Passengers in Goods Vehicles) (Exemption) Notification.

Exemptions

2. The Minister has exempted from the provisions of section 126 of the Act - —

(a)

goods vehicles owned or hired by any Government Department whilst being used for the carriage of persons in the employment of any such Department; and

(b)

goods vehicles whilst being used in connection with any procession or assembly, a permit for the holding of which has been issued under the Miscellaneous Offences (Public Order and Nuisance) (Assemblies and Processions) Rules, provided the registration number of the vehicles are endorsed on such permit by the issuing officer and further provided that the vehicles are used and the procession or assembly is held in accordance with any conditions subject to which the permit was issued.
