(Car-Free Sunday SG — Exemption for
Personal Mobility Device Riders)
Order 2018
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 142 of the Road Traffic Act, the Minister for Transport makes the following Order:
Citation
1.  This Order is the Road Traffic (Car-Free Sunday SG — Exemption for Personal Mobility Device Riders) Order 2018.
Definition
2.  In this Order, “Car‑Free Sunday SG” means the event known as Car‑Free Sunday SG conducted —
(a)on the roads specified in Part 1 of the Schedule on 25 March 2018, from 5 a.m. to 12.30 p.m.;
(b)on the roads specified in Part 2 of the Schedule on 29 April 2018, from 5 a.m. to 12.30 p.m.; and
(c)on the roads specified in Part 1 of the Schedule on 27 May 2018, from 5 a.m. to 12.30 p.m.
Exemption for personal mobility device riders
3.  Sections 5A and 5B of the Act do not apply to an individual who rides a personal mobility device on any road or part of any road specified in Part 1 or 2 of the Schedule (as the case may be), in connection with Car‑Free Sunday SG, if all of the following conditions are satisfied in relation to the personal mobility device:
(a)the personal mobility device is only ridden during Car‑Free Sunday SG;
(b)the personal mobility device is not ridden at a speed exceeding 15 km/h;
(c)the maximum speed of the personal mobility device does not exceed 25 km/h;
(d)the unladen weight of the personal mobility device does not exceed 20 kilograms;
(e)the overall width of the personal mobility device does not exceed 700 millimetres.
