Order 2024
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 142 of the Road Traffic Act 1961, the Minister for Home Affairs makes the following Order:
Citation and period in force
1.—(1)  This Order is the Road Traffic (MetaSprint Series Singapore 2024 — Triathlon — Exemption) Order 2024.
(2)  This Order is in force on 5 May 2024.
Definitions
2.  In this Order —
“specified event” means the MetaSprint Series Singapore 2024 — Triathlon event organised by Tribob.com Pte. Ltd. on 5 May 2024;
“specified road” means the road delineated by the black‑coloured line in the map set out in the Schedule;
“Tribob.com Pte. Ltd.” means the company incorporated under the Companies Act 1967 as Tribob.com Pte. Ltd. (UEN 200312749K).
Exemption for riding bicycle
3.  Rules 5, 6, 7, 7A, 8, 10 and 11 of the Road Traffic (Bicycles, Three-wheeled Pedal Cycles, Trishaws and Recumbent Devices — Road Conduct) Rules (R 3) do not apply to an individual who rides a bicycle on the specified road during and for the purpose of the specified event under the following conditions:
(a)the individual is registered with Tribob.com Pte. Ltd. as a participant of the specified event and wears a suitable cycling helmet while riding the bicycle;
(b)there is in force, at any time the bicycle is ridden during and for the purpose of the specified event, a policy of insurance in relation to the bicycle insuring against any liability in respect of —
(i)the death of or bodily injury sustained by any person (other than the rider of the bicycle); and
(ii)any property damage suffered by any person (other than the rider of the bicycle),
caused by or arising out of the use of the bicycle;
(c)the risk under the policy of insurance mentioned in sub‑paragraph (b) is assumed by an insurer who, at the time the policy is issued, is lawfully carrying on an insurance business in Singapore.
