Road Traffic (Expressways — Excluded Vehicles) Rules 2010 |

Citation and commencement |
1. These Rules may be cited as the Road Traffic (Expressways — Excluded Vehicles) Rules 2010 and shall come into operation on 1st November 2010. |
Definitions |
Use of expressway by excluded vehicles |
3.—(1) Except as otherwise provided by these Rules, no person shall use any excluded vehicle, or cause or permit any excluded vehicle to be used, on any part of an expressway.

Application for permit |
4.—(1) The owner or driver of an excluded vehicle may apply to the Authority for a permit authorising the excluded vehicle to be used on an expressway or any part thereof.

Refusal to grant or revocation of permit |
5.—(1) The Authority may refuse to grant a permit to an applicant if the Authority is of the opinion that —

Exceptions |
6. These Rules shall not apply to any excluded vehicle that is used, or authorised to be used, on an expressway by the Authority, the Singapore Police Force, the Singapore Armed Forces or the Singapore Civil Defence Force for the purpose of executing its functions. |
Saving and transitional provision |
7.—(1) Where a person has, before 1st November 2010, obtained the authorisation of the Deputy Police Commissioner under the revoked rule 11 of the Road Traffic (Expressway Traffic) Rules (R 23) to use an excluded vehicle on an expressway on or after that date, rule 3(1) of these Rules shall not apply to such person or the excluded vehicle in respect of which the authorisation has been granted for so long as the authorisation continues to be valid.
