Singapore Armed Forces Act
(Chapter 295)
Singapore Armed Forces (State Marine Ensign) Regulations 1999
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 205 of the Singapore Armed Forces Act, the Armed Forces Council hereby makes the following Regulations:
Citation and commencement
1.  These Regulations may be cited as the Singapore Armed Forces (State Marine Ensign) Regulations 1999 and shall come into operation on 15th July 1999.
Certificate
2.—(1)  The Chief of Navy may, if he thinks fit, issue a certificate in respect of any vessel to which this regulation applies.
(2)  This regulation applies to vessels —
(a)whether or not they belong to the Government ;
(b)in the possession, control or occupancy of the Singapore Armed Forces; and
(c)used or operated by the Singapore Armed Forces for non-commercial purposes,
but does not apply to warships.
(3)  The certificate referred to in paragraph (1) shall —
(a)be in the form set out in the Schedule; and
(b)be valid for such period as the Chief of Navy may specify in the certificate.
State Marine Ensign and carrying of certificate
3.  The master of a vessel in respect of which a certificate under regulation 2(1) has been issued shall ensure that —
(a)the vessel wears the State Marine Ensign; and
(b)the certificate is carried on board the vessel.
