(Tariffs for Water)
(Amendment) Regulations 2025
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 72 of the Public Utilities Act 2001, the Public Utilities Board, with the approval of the Minister for Sustainability and the Environment, makes the following Regulations:
Citation and commencement
1.—(1)  These Regulations are the Public Utilities (Tariffs for Water) (Amendment) Regulations 2025 and, except for regulation 3(c) and (d), come into operation on 1 April 2025.
(2)  Regulation 3(c) and (d) is deemed to have come into operation on 31 December 2021.
Amendment of regulation 2
2.  In the Public Utilities (Tariffs for Water) Regulations (Rg 7) (called in these Regulations the principal Regulations), in regulation 2, after “potable water reticulation system”, insert “or NEWater reticulation system”.
Amendment of regulation 6
3.  In the principal Regulations, in regulation 6 —
(a)in the regulation heading, replace “tariff” with “tariffs”;
(b)replace “non‑domestic tariff” with “non‑domestic tariffs”;
(c)in paragraph (a), replace “(Cap. 127)” with “1954”; and
(d)in paragraph (b), replace “(Cap. 95)” with “1987”.
Amendment of Schedule
4.  In the principal Regulations, in the Schedule —
(a)in paragraph 1(a) and (b)(i), replace “$1.29” with “$1.43”;
(b)in paragraph 1(b)(ii), replace “$1.63” with “$1.81”;
(c)replace paragraph 2 with —
2.  The non‑domestic tariff is —
(a)where the water is supplied through the Board’s potable water reticulation system, $1.43 per cubic metre; and
(b)where the water is supplied through the Board’s NEWater reticulation system, $1.28 per cubic metre.”; and
(d)in paragraph 3, replace “$2.03” with “$2.27”.
Transitional provision
5.—(1)  Despite regulation 4, the tariff payable to the Board for any water supplied through the Board’s potable water reticulation system to any premises in the relevant billing month for the premises is the sum of the following:
(a)such tariff in the Schedule to the principal Regulations as in force immediately before 1 April 2025 for water that has been supplied, or is fairly or reasonably estimated to have been supplied, to the premises on the days in March 2025;
(b)such tariff in the Schedule to the principal Regulations as in force on 1 April 2025 for water that has been supplied, or is fairly or reasonably estimated to have been supplied, to the premises on the days in April 2025.
(2)  In this regulation, “relevant billing month”, in relation to any premises, means the period of a month that comprises days in March 2025 and April 2025, and in respect of which a bill for the water supplied to those premises is rendered by the Board.
