Road Traffic
(Vehicular Emissions Tax)
(Amendment) Rules 2025

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 11AA(6) of the Road Traffic Act 1961, the Minister for Transport makes the following Rules:

Citation and commencement

1. These Rules are the Road Traffic (Vehicular Emissions Tax) (Amendment) Rules 2025 and come into operation on 31 March 2025.

Amendment of rule 3

2. In the Road Traffic (Vehicular Emissions Tax) Rules 2017 (G.N. No. S 776/2017), in rule 3 —

(a)

in paragraph (3), replace “31 March 2025” with “31 March 2027”; and

(b)

replace paragraph (4) with —

“(4) The amount of tax chargeable for a taxable vehicle mentioned in paragraph (3) is —

(a)	where the first registration is between 1 April 2023 and 31 March 2025 (both dates inclusive) — $15,000; or
(b)	where the first registration is between 1 April 2025 and 31 March 2027 (both dates inclusive) — $20,000.”.
