An Act to consolidate and amend the law relating to arbitration.

PRELIMINARY
Short title
1.  This Act may be cited as the Arbitration Act.
Interpretation
2.  In this Act, unless there is something repugnant in the subject or context —
“action” includes any proceeding in a court of law;
“arbitration agreement” means a written agreement to submit present or future differences to arbitration, whether an arbitrator is named therein or not;
“award” includes an interim award;
“court” means the High Court;
“Rules of Court” means rules made or deemed to have been made under section 80 of the Supreme Court of Judicature Act [Cap. 322].
