An Act to establish the national currency of Singapore, and to provide for matters connected therewith.

PART I
PRELIMINARY
Short title
1.  This Act may be cited as the Currency Act.
Interpretation
2.  In this Act, unless the context otherwise requires —
“Authority” means the Monetary Authority of Singapore established under the Monetary Authority of Singapore Act (Cap. 186);
“currency” means currency notes and coins which are legal tender in Singapore;
