The following Act was passed by Parliament on 21st March 1994 and assented to by the President on 26th March 1994:— |

An Act to amend the Constitution of the Republic of Singapore (1992 Revised Edition). |
Be it enacted by the President with the advice and consent of the Parliament of Singapore, as follows: |
Short title and commencement |
Amendment of Article 34 |
2. Article 34(2)(a) of the Constitution of the Republic of Singapore (referred to in this Act as the Constitution) is amended by deleting the word “grade” and substituting the word “office”. |
Repeal of Article 100 |
3. Article 100 of the Constitution is repealed. |
New Article 111A |
4. The Constitution is amended by inserting, immediately after Article 111, the following Article:

Saving and transitional |
5.—(1) Nothing in sections 2 and 4 of this Act shall affect the appointment or promotion of any person made before the commencement of those sections.
