An Act to regulate the slaughtering of animals and the processing, packing, inspection, import, distribution, sale, transhipment and export of meat products and fish products and for matters connected therewith, and to repeal the Slaughter-houses and Meat Processing Factories Act (Chapter 307 of the 1985 Revised Edition) and to make related amendments to certain provisions of the Fisheries Act (Chapter 111 of the 1985 Revised Edition).
Be it enacted by the President with the advice and consent of the Parliament of Singapore, as follows:
PART I
Preliminary
Short title and commencement
1.  This Act may be cited as the Stamp (Amendment) Act, 1965, and shall come into operation on such date as the Minister may, by notification in the Gazette, appoint.
Amendment of section 2
2.  Section 2 of the Stamp Ordinance is hereby amended —
(a)by deleting the words “the Colony or in the Federation of Malaya” appearing at the end of the definition of “contract note” therein and substituting therefor the word “Singapore”;
(b)by deleting the words “in any part of the British Commonwealth” appearing at the end of the definition of “marketable security” therein;
(c)by deleting the expression “the Colony or in British, Dominion, Indian, colonial or foreign currency” appearing at the end of the definition of “money” therein and substituting therefor the words “Singapore or in any other currency”; and
(d)by deleting the definition of “stock” appearing therein and substituting therefor the following: —
“ “stock” includes any share in the capital stock or funded debt of a company, corporation or society in Singapore or elsewhere and stocks or funds of the Government or of any other Government or country;”.
Transfer date
3.  The transfer date shall be such date as the Minister may, by notification in the Gazette, appoint to be the date on which the undertaking and employees of the Corporation shall be transferred to the successor company.
