An Act to amend the Parliamentary Elections Act (Chapter 50 of the Revised Edition). |
Be it enacted by the President with the advice and consent of the Parliament of Singapore, as follows: — |
Short title and commencement |
1. This Act may be cited as the Parliamentary Elections (Amendment) Act, 1972, and shall be deemed to have come into operation on the 20th day of December 1971. |
Amendment of section 10 |
2. Subsection (2) of section 10 of the Parliamentary Elections Act is hereby amended by deleting the expression “the first registers of electors for 1967” appearing in the third line thereof and substituting therefor the expression “registers of electors for 1971”. |
Amendment of Form 1 in First Schedule |
3. Form 1 in the First Schedule to the Parliamentary Elections Act is hereby amended by deleting the expressions “By Command,” and “Secretary to the Cabinet” appearing at the end thereof and substituting therefor the word “President”. |
