An Act to amend the Constitution of the Republic of Singapore.
Be it enacted by the President with the advice and consent of the Parliament of Singapore, as follows: —
Short title
1.  This Act may be cited as the Constitution of the Republic of Singapore (Amendment) Act, 1980.
Amendment of Article 44
2.  Article 44 of the Constitution of the Republic of Singapore is amended by inserting, immediately after the word “election” at the end of paragraph (d) of clause (2), the words “and has been so resident for periods amounting in the aggregate to not less than ten years prior to that date”.
