Finance (Amendment) Bill

An Act to amend the Finance Act (Chapter 139 of the Revised Edition).
Be it enacted by the President with the advice and consent of the Parliament of Singapore, as follows:
Short title and commencement
1.  This Act may be cited as the Finance (Amendment) Act 1985 and shall be deemed to have come into operation on 1st April 1985.
Amendment of section 5
2.  Section 5 of the Finance Act is amended by deleting subsection (1) and substituting the following subsection:
“(1)  Payroll tax shall be levied at such rate as the Minister may by order from time to time prescribe on the payroll of an employer for each month.”.
