Singapore Legislative Assembly Elections (Temporary Provisions) (No. 2) Ordinance

An Ordinance to provide for the extension of time for the revision of the registers of electors for the year 1963 for the electoral divisions of the State of Singapore for the purposes of elections under the Singapore Legislative Assembly Elections Ordinance (Chapter 53 of the Revised Edition).
Be it enacted by the Yang di-Pertuan Negara with the advice and consent of the Legislative Assembly of Singapore, as follows: —
Short title
1.  This Ordinance may be cited as the Singapore Legislative Assembly Elections (Temporary Provisions) (No. 2) Ordinance, 1963.
Interpretation
2.  In this Ordinance, “register of electors” has the same meaning as in the Singapore Legislative Assembly Elections Ordinance (Cap. 53).
Extension of time for the completion of registers of electors
3.  Notwithstanding the provisions of subsection (1) of section 15 of the Singapore Legislative Assembly Elections Ordinance, the revision of the registers of electors for the year 1963 shall be completed on or before the 30th day of April, 1964, or such later date in 1964 as the Minister may appoint for the purpose by notification published in the Gazette.
