Motor Vehicles (Third-party Risks and Compensation) (Amendment) Ordinance

An Ordinance to amend the Motor Vehicles (Third-party Risks and Compensation) Ordinance, 1960 (No. 1 of 1960).
Be it enacted by the Yang di-Pertuan Negara with the advice and consent of the Legislative Assembly of Singapore, as follows: —
Short title
1.  This Ordinance may be cited as the Motor Vehicles (Third-party Risks and Compensation) (Amendment) Ordinance, 1962.
Amendment of section 8
2.  Section 8 of the Motor Vehicles (Third-party Risks and Compensation) Ordinance, 1960, is hereby amended by inserting immediately after subsection (1) thereof the following new subsection: —
“(1A)  Notwithstanding the provision contained in subsection (1) of this section providing for the payment to the Public Trustee, the right of action thereby created shall vest in the persons entitled to the benefit of the judgment payable thereunder.”.
