Carriage of Goods by Sea (Amendment) Bill

An Act to amend the Carriage of Goods by Sea Act, 1972 (No. 30 of 1972).

Be it enacted by the President with the advice and consent of the Parliament of Singapore, as follows: —

Short title

1. This Act may be cited as the Carriage of Goods by Sea (Amendment) Act, 1982.

Amendment of section 3

2. The Carriage of Goods by Sea Act, 1972, is amended by renumbering section 3 as subsection (1) of that section, and by inserting immediately thereafter the following subsection: —

“(2) The Minister may, from time to time by order published in the Gazette, specify the respective amounts which for the purposes of paragraph 5 of Article IV of the Rules and of Article IV bis of the Rules are to be taken as equivalent to the sums expressed in francs which are mentioned in sub-paragraph (a) of that paragraph.”.
