Stamp (Amendment) Bill

An Act to amend the Stamp Ordinance (Chapter 170 of the Revised Edition).

Be it enacted by the President with the advice and consent of the Parliament of Singapore, as follows: —

Short title

1. This Act may be cited as the Stamp (Amendment) Act, 1967.

Amendment of section 15

2. Section 15 of the Stamp Ordinance is hereby amended by inserting immediately after subsection (7) thereof the following new subsection: —

“(8) The exemption provided by this section shall extend to apply to a reconstruction or amalgamation where the transferee company is a company incorporated or registered outside Singapore but has been carrying on business through an existing company in Singapore which is a branch or subsidiary of the transferee company.”.
