Factories (Amendment) Bill

An Act to amend the Factories Act, 1973 (No. 6 of 1973).
Be it enacted by the President with the advice and consent of the Parliament of Singapore, as follows: —
Short title and commencement
1.  This Act may be cited as the Factories (Amendment) Act, 1979, and shall come into operation on such date as the Minister may, by notification in the Gazette, appoint.
Amendment of section 82
2.  Section 82 of the Factories Act, 1973, is amended by inserting, immediately after subsection (2) thereof, the following subsection: —
(3)  In relation to a contravention which results in the death of, or serious bodily injury to, any person, the person guilty of an offence shall be liable to a fine not exceeding twenty-five thousand dollars or to imprisonment for a term not exceeding one year or to both such fine and imprisonment.”.
