Singapore Sports Council Bill

An Act to establish the Singapore Sports Council and for matters connected therewith and to repeal the National Sports Promotion Board Act (Chapter 312 of the Revised Edition) and the National Stadium Corporation Act, 1971 (No. 14 of 1971).
Be it enacted by the President with the advice and consent of the Parliament of Singapore, as follows: —
PART I
PRELIMINARY
Short title and commencement
1.  This Act may be cited as the Singapore Sports Council Act, 1973, and shall come into operation on such date as the Minister may, by notification in the Gazette, appoint.
Interpretation
2.  In this Act, unless the context otherwise requires —
“Chairman” means the Chairman of the Council appointed under section 4;
“Council” means the Singapore Sports Council established under section 3;
“member” means a member of the Council and includes the Chairman and the Deputy Chairman;
“National Stadium” means the National Stadium Complex at Kallang.
