| An Act to amend the Ngee Ann Technical College Act (Chapter 179 of the Revised Edition), the Institute of Education Act (Chapter 176 of the Revised Edition) and the Ngee Ann Kongsi (Incorporation) Ordinance (Chapter 307 of the 1955 Edition). |
| Be it enacted by the President with the advice and consent of the Parliament of Singapore, as follows: — |
| Short title and commencement |
| 1. This Act may be cited as the Ngee Ann Technical College (Amendment) Act, 1981, and shall come into operation on such date as the Minister may, by notification in the Gazette, appoint. |
| Miscellaneous amendments |
2. The Ngee Ann Technical College Act is amended —

| Amendment of Institute of Education Act |
| 3. The Institute of Education Act (Cap. 176) is amended by deleting the words “Ngee Ann Technical College” in section 5(1)(g) and substituting the words “Ngee Ann Polytechnic”. |
| Amendment of Ngee Ann Kongsi (Incorporation) Ordinance |
| 4. The Ngee Ann Kongsi (Incorporation) Ordinance (1955 Ed. Cap. 307) is amended by deleting the words “Ngee Ann Technical College” wherever they appear in section 20A and substituting in each case the words “Ngee Ann Polytechnic”. |
| Construction of contracts, gifts, etc. |
| 5. On and after the commencement of this Act, any reference to the Ngee Ann Technical College contained in any contract, agreement, bequest, will, trust or other instrument shall have effect as if it were a reference to the Ngee Ann Polytechnic. |
