Limitation (Extension) Bill

An Act to preserve causes of action in respect of which writs were issued in the name of the Yang di-Pertuan Agong of Malaysia between the 9th day of August, 1965, and the 23rd day of February 1966.
Be it enacted by the President with the advice and consent of the Parliament of Singapore, as follows: —
Short title
1.  This Act may be cited as the Limitation (Extension) Act, 1966.
Preservation of causes of action
2.  Notwithstanding any other written law, in the case of any cause of action in respect of which a writ was issued in the name of the Yang di-Pertuan Agong of Malaysia between the 9th day of August, 1965, and the 23rd day of February 1966, which would but for this Act be barred by limitation the plaintiff may institute proceedings in respect thereof for a period not exceeding three months from the date of the coming into operation of this Act and the limitation period therefor is hereby extended for a period of three months from the date of the coming into operation of this Act.
