Environmental Public Health (Amendment) Bill

An Act to amend the Environmental Public Health Act (Chapter 95 of the 1985 Revised Edition).
Be it enacted by the President with the advice and consent of the Parliament of Singapore, as follows:
Short title and commencement
1.  This Act may be cited as the Environmental Public Health (Amendment) Act 1989 and shall come into operation on such date as the Minister may, by notification in the Gazette, appoint.
New section 110A
2.  The Environmental Public Health Act is amended by inserting, immediately after section 110, the following section:
Authorised members, employees or agents of Town Councils to exercise certain powers of the Commissioner
110A.  The Commissioner may, with the approval of the Minister, in writing in that behalf authorise —
(a)any member of a Town Council established under the Town Councils Act [Cap. 329A];
(b)any member of any committee of a Town Council; or
(c)any employee or agent of a Town Council,
to exercise all or any of the powers of the Commissioner under this Act or any regulations made thereunder subject to such conditions or limitations as the Commissioner may specify.”.
