Parliamentary Elections (Temporary Provisions) Bill

An Act to dispense with the revision in 1972 of the registers of electors for the electoral divisions of the Republic of Singapore for purposes of elections under the Parliamentary Elections Act (Chapter 50 of the Revised Edition).
Be it enacted by the President with the advice and consent of the Parliament of Singapore, as follows: —
Short title
1.  This Act may be cited as the Parliamentary Elections (Temporary Provisions) Act, 1972.
Interpretation
2.  In this Act —
“register of electors” has the same meaning as in the Parliamentary Elections Act;
“Registration Officer” has the same meaning as in the Parliamentary Elections Act.
Dispensation with revision of registers in 1972
3.  Notwithstanding the provisions of subsection (1) of section 15 of the Parliamentary Elections Act it shall not be necessary for the Registration Officer to complete a revision of the registers of electors in the year 1972.
