Countervailing and Anti-Dumping Duties (Amendment) Bill

An Act to amend the Countervailing and Anti-Dumping Duties Act (Chapter 65B of the 1997 Revised Edition).
Be it enacted by the President with the advice and consent of the Parliament of Singapore, as follows:
Short title and commencement
1.  This Act may be cited as the Countervailing and Anti-Dumping Duties (Amendment) Act 2004 and shall come into operation on such date as the Minister may, by notification in the Gazette, appoint.
New section 45A
2.  The Countervailing and Anti-Dumping Duties Act is amended by inserting, immediately after section 45, the following section:
Regulations to give effect to treaties, etc.
45A.  The Minister may make regulations —
(a)to modify the application of the provisions of this Act —
(i)to any goods exported or originating from any country; or
(ii)to any country or person or description of persons; and
(b)to exempt any goods exported or originating from any country from all or any of the provisions of this Act,
in order to give effect to any obligation binding on Singapore under any international agreement or arrangement.”.
