An Act to transfer the functions of the Singapore Family Planning and Population Board to the Government and to repeal the Singapore Family Planning and Population Board Act (Chapter 168 of the Revised Edition) and to provide for matters incidental thereto. |
Be it enacted by the President with the advice and consent of the Parliament of Singapore, as follows: |
Short title and commencement |
1. This Act may be cited as the Singapore Family Planning and Population Board (Repeal) Act 1986 and shall come into operation on such date as the Minister may, by notification in the Gazette, appoint. |
Interpretation |
2. In this Act —

Minister to exercise powers of the Board |
3. The Minister shall have and exercise the functions, duties and powers of the Board under the provisions of the Singapore Family Planning and Population Board Act. |
Dissolution of the Board and transfer to the Government of assets and liabilities of the Board |
Existing contracts |
5. All deeds, bonds, agreements, instruments and arrangements, subsisting immediately before the appointed day relating to the Board shall continue in force on or after that date and shall be enforceable by or against the Government as if the Government had been named therein or had been a party thereto. |
Pending proceedings |
6. Any proceeding or cause of action pending or existing immediately before the appointed day by or against the Board may be continued and enforced by or against the Government. |
Repeal |
7. The Singapore Family Planning and Population Board Act (Cap. 168) is repealed. |
