Whereas section 355(2) of the Companies Act provides that the President may by proclamation published in the Gazette declare to be an investment company any corporation which is engaged primarily in the making of investments in marketable securities for the purpose of revenue and for profit and not for the purpose of exercising control:
And whereas an investment company declared by proclamation of the President shall be subject to the special regulatory provisions under Part XI Division 1 of the Companies Act:
And whereas Harimau Investments Limited is a public company incorporated in Singapore on 21st March 1973 which is engaged primarily in the making of investments in marketable securities for the purpose of revenue and for profit and not for the purpose of exercising control:
Now, therefore, I, BENJAMIN HENRY SHEARES, President of the Republic of Singapore, do hereby declare Harimau Investments Limited to be an investment company.
