Citation
1.  This Order may be cited as the Medicines (Exemption) (No. 4) Order.
Exemption for selling medicinal products before 30th June 1987
2.—(1)  Except as provided in sub-paragraphs (2) and (3), section 5(1) and (2) of the Act shall not have effect in relation to a person in respect of his selling medicinal products of any description, if, in the course of a business carried on by him, medicinal products of that description were sold at any time before 30th June 1987.
(2)  Sub-paragraph (1) shall not apply to —
(a)vitamin and nutritional preparations;
(b)analgesic, antipyretic, anti-inflammatory and anaesthetic preparations (including antirheumatic and gout preparations); and
(c)other preparations not mentioned in this sub-paragraph,
which are sold on or after 1st July 1991.
(3)  Sub-paragraph (1) shall not apply to any medicinal product which is first sold in Singapore on or after 30th June 1987.
Exemption for selling or offering for sale medicinal products before 1st July 1990
3.—(1)  Except as provided in sub-paragraph (2), section 6(3) of the Act shall not have effect in relation to a person in respect of his selling or offering for sale any medicinal products by way of wholesale dealing in the course of a business carried on by him if, in the course of that business, medicinal products were being sold or offered for sale by way of wholesale dealing at any time before 1st July 1991.
(2)  Sub-paragraph (1) shall not apply to —
(a)vitamin and nutritional preparations;
(b)analgesic, antipyretic, anti-inflammatory and anaesthetic preparations (including antirheumatic and gout preparations); and
(c)other preparations not mentioned in this sub-paragraph,
which are sold or offered for sale by way of wholesale dealing on or after 1st July 1991.
