Raffles College Provident Scheme (Continuation) Rules |

1. These Rules may be cited as the Raffles College Provident Scheme (Continuation) Rules. |
2. The Provident Scheme established by section 15 of the Raffles College Ordinance and continued by section 27(1) of the Raffles College Ordinance 1938 shall continue in force, and the provisions of the Rules known as the Raffles College Provident Scheme and made under section 16 of the Raffles College Ordinance as amended by the Raffles College Ordinance 1929 and in force immediately before 8th October 1949 (referred to in these Rules as the Scheme) shall continue to apply to that Provident Scheme subject to the following modifications and amendments. 3. From and after 8th October 1949, the Scheme shall be construed and administered as if —

5. All rights conferred and trusts, obligations and duties imposed on the Council of Raffles College by the Scheme shall from and after 8th October 1949 be deemed to have been conferred on or be binding on and shall be duly exercised, performed or discharged by the University of Malays in the same manner in all respects as they were conferred or binding on and would, but for the coming into effect of the University of Malaya Ordinance, have been exercised or have had to be performed or discharged by that Council under the Scheme. 6. Nothing in these Rules shall be deemed to have prejudiced or affected the rights of any person under the Scheme already accrued on 8th October 1949. |
7. Nothing in these Rules shall be deemed to affect the power of the President to provide at any time for the merging of the Provident Scheme in any new Provident Scheme established by the University of Malaya under section 3 of the Constitution of the University of Malaya established under the University of Malaya Ordinance 1949 or the power of the University under section 14(3) of that Ordinance with the consent of the President to revoke or amend or add to any of the Rules of the Scheme hereby continued. |
