(Amendment No. 3) Rules 2024

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 111 of the Road Traffic Act 1961, the Land Transport Authority of Singapore makes the following Rules:

Citation and commencement

1. These Rules are the Road Traffic (Public Service Vehicles) (Vocational Licences and Conduct of Drivers, Conductors, Trishaw Riders and Passengers) (Amendment No. 3) Rules 2024 and come into operation on 1 January 2025.

Amendment of rule 7A

2. In the Road Traffic (Public Service Vehicles) (Vocational Licences and Conduct of Drivers, Conductors, Trishaw Riders and Passengers) Rules (R 8), in rule 7A —

(a)

in paragraph (3)(a), after “self‑employed”, insert “, a platform worker of a ride‑hail service provider that is a platform operator”; and

(b)

after paragraph (3), insert —

“(4) In this rule —

“platform operator” has the meaning given by section 4 of the Platform Workers Act 2024;

“platform worker” has the meaning given by section 5(1) of the Platform Workers Act 2024.”.
